Post-divorce, or during a divorce proceeding, the circumstances of each parent may change.  Courts typically retain jurisdiction over each case.  If you believe the circumstances warrant a change in an order of custody, the argument must be put before the court.  In this, as always in matters of custody, the childs’ best interest will be the primary consideration.  Any matter which the Court may consider in the initial custody determination may be considered in a petition for modification.

Similarly, as with custody orders, support orders may also be subject to modification.

If you believe you a modification of a custody or support order is warranted in your case, schedule an initial consult today, or call us today to speak to an attorney.  You can reach our White Plains office at (914) 214 – 9032.  You can also reach our Brooklyn office at (718) 614 8739.  We're waiting for your call.
